Core practice
Hassabis repeatedly frames difficult work as a scientific learning loop: study a problem across disciplines, reduce it to a testable question, build an experiment, and let evidence revise the model. His path through chess, neuroscience, computer science, games, and biology shows a method of transferring useful structures between fields rather than collecting disconnected facts.
Learn the shape of the problem
Before reaching for a familiar tool, map what the field already knows, what remains uncertain, and which neighboring discipline may offer a better representation. Cross-domain learning becomes useful only when it changes the question you can ask.
Turn intuition into a test
